A Branch is one of the two types of alternate path, the other is Breadcrumbs. It is used to create split paths in the track with the same ability to use materials as the main track path. It is able to be customized similarly to the basic track, being able to be re-paved, have its fences, materials, and track sections edited, as well as being auto-populated.
Creating a branch requires road budget to be spared specifically for the branch. Tracks with extremely long roads cannot have branches due to the limited road budget.
Branches only exist in the PS3 game and ModNation Racers: Road Trip. ModNation Racers for the PlayStation Portable does not have the ability to create branches in Track Studio.
In the exclusive beta for ModNation Racers, creating a branch would show a pop up asking the player to either accept the auto-generated path of a branch, or re-pave it.
