Changes: Boom Box Advanced Weapons System

The Boom Box Weapons System, or Boom Box for short, is mentioned multiple times in the Career, starting from the start of the first Mod Circuit race. It is said to cost a fortune, but it allows Tag and other racers to collect Weapons from Item Pods and fire them, and is built to be completely indestructible. However, Mother and The Chief still complained that Tag's Kart and the Boom Box inside it got progressively more damaged over the course of the career. The indestructible part eventually was proven to be incorrect as Tag's Boom Box eventually was completely destroyed by an explosion.

Tag's Boom Box

After the Village Run Track in career mode, both Tag's Crew Chief and his mother start to complain that his kart's Boom Box is somehow actually taking major damage, when it is designed to be indestructible. The Chief also says that one hit to the right spot will completely destroy the Boom Box and cause Tag to be unable to race.

This prediction unfortunately becomes true after the Range Tour. Both Tag's kart and its Boom Box is destroyed from a bomb planted by Richard Short from Conservative Motors, which causes Tag to be unable to race. Tag was offered to sign with Conservative Motors to get a new Boom by Richard Short, and signed his contract to be able to race again without Mother losing her paint shop. The same explosion also knocked out the Chief and put him in a coma, but his right eye is still open regardless. This coma also prevented him from stoping Tag from signing the contract.

Crew Chief's Boom Box

The Chief complains about Espresso destroying his Boom Box when he crashed into the walls on turn three of Crazy Crater. He especially complains about this after Tag's kart and Boom Box is destroyed from a bomb planted by Uncle Richard from Conservative Motors. It is eventually revealed to be a lie, as the Chief in actually stopped racing due to being a coward, not because his Boom Box was destroyed by Espresso.
